What many people don't realise is that you can ruin an incredible makeup just by using the wrong powder! Matte and thick powders take away from the look of the skin and they can be to blame when the skin appears caky or heavy.
To complete a flawless makeup you need 3 powders, these are the 3 I would recommend and they are always in my kit.

Light Reflecting loose powder by NARS -
This pore minimiser is only to be used lightly and with caution, the trick is to put a tiny amount on your brush and light push it into your T-zone, the biggest mistake people make is they fill their brush with this powder and quickly dust the face walking away looking white ! Less is more with this one and it should be the last touch of makeup just before you walk out the door.

AMBIENT® LIGHTING PALETTE by Hourglass -
There is so many amazing powders by Hourglass, its impossible to choose just one!
Therefore I personally opt for their palette's, this beauty I use everyday on myself and on every client. It suits all skin textures, colours and it makes the skin look lit from within like you have just come back from holiday.
Use Incandescent light first to highlight, sweep across the tops of the cheeks and nose . Use Dim light to contour, blend under your cheek bones to create a shadow and on the tip of your nose if you wish to minimise, lastly place Radiant light on the apples of your cheeks and if you wish to look like your back from holiday sweep it where your face would normally get sunburnt to create a natural glow. Again less is more.

Mineral Powder by Nude by Nature -
Now this is my little miracle worker, it looks like skin, covers everything and blends seamlessly ! I use it every day on myself and when I have troubled skinned clients this is my fixer ! I actually don't know what I would do without it, nothing beats it! Also you can wear it to bed..... its that good for your skin.
